A nice little piece of the picture was added as things began to come together slowly, but there was still much to complete. "In time "my friend", in time," he chuckled with slight undetectable sarcasm. "These things take time, and as I'm sure you're aware, imbeciles have the nasty advantage of unpredictability on their side. But don't doubt for a second in my abilities... they will meet and with them their demise. The "where" remains to be seen, but I shall bring them to you. I will tell of the location as the time comes; in the meantime, I suggest you prepare whatever traps or tricks you may have in mind for them. I will find you as the time draws near." With his proposition now put forth, and with the commander's understanding all that was required, Malice turned to leave, trekking over the quickly darkening scrub. He turned his head around with an afterthought and with a widened smile and narrowed eyes he said, "Oh, and one more thing. Something I'm certain we have in common is that I don't like those who go back on deals, as you may well come to be aware." With that and one last cackle he walked forth into a gaping black hole of darkness that appeared before him, his laugh echoing as it dwindled away.

Ferrell stared after Malice for a few minutes until Cadmus and Arion returned. Standing up and gathering his maps and papers Ferrell said brusquely, Make ready to leave. We're not making camp...The two of them gazed at Ferrell curiously until Cadmus said cautiously, "Sir, why the sudden change of plans?" Ferrell stared icily at his guard until the two of them bowed apologetically and went about their orders.

Where was it Malice said Blake was heading? Ah, Hydrotia... I'll just head that way...if I'm lucky i can head her off....
