Humans have changed and so has life. Under the suggestions board is a place to submit an idea for a new kind of life form. If approved it will be listed here.
Quote:Name- Airshrooms (Also called Flying fungi or flying mushrooms) Type of Organism- Fungus: mushroom Where it lives: Lives in wet marshy areas; Rainforests, swamps, etc.
Description: Airshrooms are yes, mushrooms that can fly. They grow in damp wet marshy places and thrive. However, if conditions change to become unfavorable (as they often do), as the mushroom begins to dry out, its cells lose weight and begin to contract. Eventually the contraction reaches a point where the cells will snap back into place causing the mushroom to burst into the air because of the umbrella of the mushroom. This sets off a chain reaction of contraction and release which gives the mushroom the ability to lift off into the air and be carried off by the wind. When it reaches a pocket of moisture (cloud about to rain) its cells will absorb the moisture and begin to become heavier as its umbrella serves as a parachute as it floats to the ground. Once it lands it will insert its hyphae (fungus version of roots) into the ground (or whatever else they have the misfortune to land on) and begin to suck up all nutrients. It will stay here until conditions become unfavorable again, and will then repeat the whole process. |

Quote:Name: Tropical Bluebird Type of organism: Animal - Bird Where it lives: In Tropical Rainforests
Description: The tropical bluebird is a relatively small bird; About 6.5 inches long with a 13.5 inch wingspan. It is a bright, deeply colored blue, with a blue-grey throat and breast, and a white underbelly. Its song is often referred to as the song of happiness or the song of tranquility, and soothes all who listen to it. One of several species of bluebird, the tropical bluebird, of course, lives in tropical rainforests. While this generally applies to Biotia, a variant subspecies lives in the remaining Pyron tropical forests; This subspecies has a brighter, more turquoise plumage, and is endangered due to habitat loss on the islands. |

Quote:Name- Tawl (pronounced "tall") Type of Organism- Avian (bird) Where it Lives- lives in arid and tropical regions, confined mainly to Biotia and Geotiona
Description- Large, predatory bird similar in size to an Albatross of today. The immature Tawl (under 2 years old) has a wingspan between 10 and 17 feet. The adults have a wingspan that ranges from 18 feet and normally up to 30 feet, although there are the exceptions that can be as much as 40 feet across. Adult male Tawls are usually larger than the females and are also the ones to stay with the young in the nest while the female goes and hunts for them. The immature Tawls need their father's protection because they cannot fly until they are nearly mature, usually around 2 years old. Tawls will hunt anything they can carry back to their nest to feed their families, including humans, though this is rather rare. Tawls usually lay between 2 and 5 eggs at a time, the incubation period being just 6 weeks. The immature Tawls will stay in the nest with their parents until they are mature, which is usually when they are two and a half years old. |

Quote: Name: Air Horse Type of Organism: Mammal Where it lives: Confined Strictly in Aerotis (Domesticated)
Description: the Air Horse is a relatively docile creature selectively bred for its powers over the years to serve the Aerotans. They can only be of use to the Aerotans because they thrive on using the air currents to move, but also need the direction of their rider to do so. They look exactly like a modern-day horse, but more muscular and slightly shorter to accommodate long flights. They are also trained as cavalry animals in battle, but only for the officers so they can escape if the battle begins to go badly. |

Quote:Name: Woodfish
Type of organism: Fish
Where it lives: Lakes and pools found throughout Northern Biotia and Southern Hydrotia
Description: A small fish that is found only in a few areas of Neogea. They are normally found in freshwater throughout the rainforests and marshes of Northern Biotia and Southern Hydrotia. The Woodfish is small, non-predatory fish that tends to swim on the bottom of pools and lakes, where it can be mistaken for a piece of wood due to its coloring and the shimmer of its scales. Being a docile, non-predatory fish, the Woodfish has a very unique form of self-defense. It is equipped with a line of spines along its back. The spines are hollow inside and filled with an extremely potent tranquilizing drug. Thus they are very valuable. Biotians and Hydrotians have made a fair trade of Woodfish spines, and many use them themselves for their own reasons. |

Quote:Name: Winnet
Type of Organism: mammal; canine
Where it Lives: Domesticated in Biotia
Description: Small, domesticated animal that Biotians keep as pets. They are long and slim with their coats ranging from white to brown. They are not overly-intelligent and their elemental abilities are also limited. The only known elemental ability of the Winnet is minor telepathy. They are only able to link with their master for a few minutes at a time, and even then they can only communicate their feelings, such as anger, fear, or hunger. Even though their elemental abilities are lacking, Winnets make good pets, at least for Biotians, because they are very affectionate and loyal to their master. |

Quote:Name: Flamefoot
Type of Organism: Small Mammal; Rabbit-like
Where it lives: Desert scrubplains of the Northwestern portion of the world, mainly Pyron.
Description: Flamefoots are small rabbit-like creatures, if you will, that have adapted to the dry lifestyle of the scrubs. Their name is derived from the fact that as they flee, their legs move fast enough and cause enough friction to produce a trail of flames behind them. This tactic works well for fending off most chasing predators. In order to prevent the fire from damaging themselves, their fur is specially designed to be slightly heat retardant. In addition there is an excess layer of skin on the legs, thigh, and underside as a safeguard as well. While resistant, they are not completely immune to fire however. Other adaptations include long ears that come to a jagged point to increase heat release, a sandy red-brown color as camouflage, and longer legs for increased friction. They are prized by fur-collectors for their short, soft, luscious, and heat resistant fur, but are extremely difficult to catch due to their speed.
